#EspañaJournals: Grand Granada

After spending 2 hours in the backseat of our rental, I believed I'd seen all there is to see of Spain. it was hard to imagine Spain astonishing me more than it already had. But, I was not prepared for the beauty that is Granada.
Granada is known as one of the 'Pearls' of Spain, and well and truly lives up to this title. Commonly referred to as "The Morrish Jewel" it lies in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalucía.

While I was there I got to see tons of stunning architecture and witness one of the most intense, passionate dances (twice in one day!) that originates from Granada, the "Flamenco".
Granada is thriving with culture and rich with history. Home to the castle of Alhambra, I took a stroll (which felt like a hike by the end of it) around the area in which the Alhambra lies. You're actually able to go inside and view the castle but unfortunately the tickets sold out before we could get the chance :( Nevertheless, the scenery was gorgeous, filled with breathtaking views of the Alhambra. We even found a cute little ice-cream store to stop at and take in the sights. We made our way through the gypsy markets on our way back to the hotel and I got some henna done. This was a bitter sweet experience as the henna was terrible and a complete rip off, It's the last time I ever get henna anywhere but 'Little India'. I ate my first paella while shopping in the city, They say the paella in Valencia is the best but my standards are quite high after this one! My time in Granada was incredible, it was an honest blast!

Breakfast @ Breens

I've always been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I never really thought about why that was. But over time, throughout the countless amount of times I've woken up late and had to skip breakfast or forgot about breakfast entirely. I've experienced why it is so important. It literally fuels you up and gets you ready for the day.
Eating breakfast allows you to have more energy, do better in school, and eat healthier throughout the day.
Without it, people can get irritable, restless, and tired.
But having to make the same old breakfast of cereal or eggs can get so boring and I loose interest in my meal. But making something new, can take up a lot of time in the morning and that is a luxury I don't have being in school.
So I've decided to dedicate this post to quick and easy meals for breakfast that are delicious & quick. While some may be a lil naughty, I've added a couple nice healthy alternatives in the mix xx

They're the reason I don't go to school hungry each and everyday x I do realize that the majority of the meals that I've listed are sweet and that's honestly because I prefer something sweet for breakie. Some other meals I've tried and highly suggest are linked below:

HEATSTROKE

This weekend has been one hell of a journey that I'm so excited to share with you all! A bunch of us threw a surprise farewell picnic in the park for Kyra Lee. Although weather reports stated it would rain, It was a marvellous day for the occasion (even too marvellous considering we were dripping with sweat by the end of it!)
here's a look into our Saturday!
We escaped the heat by the end of our feast in a restaurant nearby
Being in an international school, You get use to seeing people come and go around the world. Although this is a blessing in disguise, The pain of loosing someone close to you never lessens. This year is my last year of high school before I start my pulminary years of HSC so that means I've had the unfortunate experience of seeing two of my closest childhood friends leave me, and It doesn't stop there. I'm so fortunate to have the friends I have in my life and I'm so grateful for them!
PS. excuse my tardiness I pinky swear i'll try to post more frequently, but It's hard when you're a antisocial turtle that doesn't do much.
Till next time
